What a Single Mom Wants for Christmas No Questions Asked

Got a single mom friend or friends? Not sure what to get them for Christmas? Well honestly, we want what any mom wants. Anything that will make our lives easier, saves us a ton of time, smells good, and makes us feel good.
Trust me when I say she will be grateful no matter what you get her for the holidays. However, she will love you more if you get her just the right thing. Something that says "Your hard work as a mother has not gone unnoticed. I see you girl".
Being single moms and all, we tend to use money as an excuse for staying in or not treating ourselves. We also have a strong tendency to feel guilty for splurging when we know we could use that money towards something more beneficial down the road. So we find it nice when our friends think about us during the holidays.
Honestly, it's really the thought that counts. I personally already think you're an awesome person for taking the time to research the perfect gift for your friend. Go you! Okay, enough about you, this post is about her. Scroll down now!
Gift Card or Groupon To The Spa
When you are raising kids on your own without a partner, your personal finances are constantly on your mind. Especially if she is raising her kids without a supplemental income like child support. So gift cards will be greatly appreciated.
Also, what girl does not like the spa. A chance to sip wine, sit back, and tune out from the world as you unwind. Trust me, she's probably desperately in need of a spa day. Her whole life now revolves around the care and well being of tiny humans. Show her how much you care by giving her a free trip to relieve some much-needed stress.
A Weekend Retreat At Her Favorite Hotel
Okay, she is going to LOVE this one. Single moms don't get enough quiet in their lives so having the opportunity to slip away for 24 or 48 hours is a HUGE blessing. Once she became a single mom, she more than likely stopped paying attention to what she needed due to the demands of motherhood. We feel this obligation to care for everyone else first that we lose sight of ourselves.
If you ended up doing this for her, you did pretty damn good! I did this for myself for my birthday earlier this year. Forty-eight hours of NO alarms, NO sibling violence, NO "mommy I'm hungry", NO. KIDS. AT. ALL. And for good measure, throw in some babysitting hours (inserts smile emoji).
A Gift Card To Her Favorite Resturant
If she's a serious foodie, this is the gift for her. Give her the gift of a break from home cooked meals, drive-throughs, and cereal (yes we do that, don't judge).
Her Own Foot Spa Kit For Home
Sometimes we just don't have the time to go wait for a chair to open up at the nail salon. Let alone the energy to leave the house when our introvert side kicks in. There's nothing wrong with a home mani-pedi. Saves time waiting in the waiting area, a drive, and money. Don't forget to through in some polish!
Nothing says I love my friend like jewelry. It means you really took the time to go to the store and pick something out. This is a very meaningful gift. It'll be a nice change from receiving drawings on construction paper as gifts from the kids.
A Slow Cooker
Sometimes us single moms like things that save us the most time and least amount of energy. Home cooked Pinterest meals are only but a dream in our house. Give her, her sanity back with this time saver. Something that is multifunctional and doesn't take up a lot of space.
AMC Gift Card
For your popcorn lovin', movie hopping friend, get her a gift card for the movies. Even if there is nothing good out right now, she'll thank you anyway, because she knows what's on the way. Also, it's another nice break from the kids
A Gift Card to her favorite Gym or Yoga Studio
The new year is about to pop it's head around the corner so set her on the right path this Christmas. If she's been using money as an excuse for not making it to the gym and you know she's been dying to go. This is the gift for her. Speaking from personal experience, after one session of yoga she'll be hooked.
Once again no matter what you get her she will love it. Remember it's the thought that counts. She'll just be amazed that at least someone in her life thought about her. We don't get many gifts around here, so we'll take all we can get.
